Squash57Levels: A new pathway for the global Squash community

Uk racketball

The launch of Squash57Levels marks an important next step for the sport, one that celebrates accessibility, inclusivity, and growth within the wider Squash family.

Played on a standard Squash court with a slightly larger, more responsive ball and a shorter racket, Squash57 offers a gentler introduction without losing the energy and excitement that make Squash so compelling. It’s easier to pick up, encourages longer rallies, and creates a more social, welcoming experience. It’s the perfect way into the sport, a brilliant way to stay in the game, and, for many, the perfect way back to the court.

Across the world, Squash57 (known in some regions as Racketball) is developing small but passionate communities. The UK leads the way through Mike Harris and UK Racketball, with support from the World Squash Federation’s Squash57 Commission, chaired by Lolly Gillen. Growth in Europe, Asia, and the Americas shows the appetite is there; now it’s about connection and coordination.

Squash57Levels provides that connection.

Built by LevelTech, the team behind SquashLevels, the world’s leading Squash rating system, Squash57Levels brings all players together under one global rating. Every match counts, whether it’s a friendly hit or a national event. Players can track progress, find balanced matches, and join their local Squash57 box league, a free tool designed to help clubs and federations create structured, local competition right away.

From 2026, UK Racketball will be using Levels across their national series to better grade their A, B, and C event categories, helping to create fairer, more balanced draws across all competitions.

Mike Harris, Director of UK Racketball, said “We are really excited to have the Squash57 Levels system up and running. It will provide a completely new dynamic to the game, allowing players of all ages and abilities to have a way to measure their development, while also being able to see how they match up with their peers too. We can’t wait to use it in our UK Racketball events and see what interesting matchups it helps bring about!”

Lolly Gillen, Chair of the WSF Squash57 Commission, added: “Partnering with SquashLevels to create the first global ratings system for Squash57 (UK Racketball) is a game-changing moment, connecting Squash57 players worldwide, inspiring greater participation, and propelling the sport to the global stage.”

To make it easier for players to find competition on their own terms, Squash57Levels is also rolling out a national network of local box leagues. These flexible, club-based leagues allow players to play when and where they like, while every result still contributes to their global rating.

We’re also taking a more consultative approach, reaching out to regions where Squash57 is still in its early stages. Working with Lolly and the WSF Squash57 Commission, we aim to help supply equipment, connect players, and establish playing communities that can grow from club level into national programmes.

Jethro Binns, Co-CEO of LevelTech, said:
“With the launch of Squash57Levels, we have a real opportunity to present a more unified brand identity for the sport. We’ve seen the positive impact that the global ratings solution has had for Squash through SquashLevels, and now we’re excited to work closely with World Squash and our federation network to help establish Squash57 as a global game in its own right. The accessibility and social appeal we’ve seen with sports like padel and pickleball show what’s possible when players can get on court easily and hit a ball that bounces immediately. With Squash57 we have that same opportunity. It offers a simple, enjoyable pathway for anyone to experience the unique joy of hitting a ball against a wall and we’re looking forward to developing this further together.”
